Creole Meatballs and Red Sauce

Pick Up Girls Saint-Leonard

Flavorful meatballs with a Creole twist that are slowly cooked in a savory red sauce. They make a great comfort food.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Put the egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, and ground beef in a bowl

Mix everything together well

Make meatballs out of the mixture that are about an inch across

Crush the tomatoes and add them to a slow cooker

Add the onion, garlic, bell pepper, celery, thyme, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper

With care, add the meatballs to the slow cookers sauce

Put the lid on and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours, until the meatballs are done and the sauce is tasty

Serve hot on top of rice or pasta that has been cooked

Have fun
